A Toast to 2024
A Year of Hops, Heart, and Island Adventures
With the start of the new year, we are pausing to reflect on the exceptional year that was 2024 — a year full of moments with our vibrant community, from events to collaborations. And we drank some incredible, award-winning beer.
As we step into 2025, we can’t help but feel deep gratitude for all of you, our beer-loving patrons, who make this all possible. We invite you to join us in revisiting some of the key moments of 2024.
A Year of Community Living and Collaborations
Noteworthy events from 2024
In 2024 we tried some new things, some more successful than others. The underlying theme? Community events and collaborations. Remember the La Fondita San Juan Mexican food pop-up that was such a resounding success? We will never forget those handmade corn tortillas made by our very own Sous-Chef, Sarah Canul. We did prove that delicious food brings people together.
Our very first Golden Keg Hunt
Did you get a chance to participate in our very first Golden Keg Hunt? This fun spin on an Easter egg hunt had locals searching high and low with the help of a riddle. You had to know San Juan Island's history and geography to crack it. Some couldn’t handle the anticipation.
It might have been a touch too easy for some long-time locals. In 2025, we’ll have to ramp things up and make the riddle more challenging.
At our 7th Anniversary party, we celebrated community and island brewed beer with the release of our 7 Year West Coast Pilsner. So many of you came out to celebrate with us, to drink beer, play cornhole, eat food, listen to music, and eat cake. It was a true reminder of why we love what we do. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for all of you!
Collaborations for the Win
Collaborations flourished throughout the year. We collaborated with Larabee Lager to create the Squeeze the Day Lemon Radler for Kulshan's annual beer prom fundraiser, a refreshing concoction that proved a hit with all.
Squeeze The Day Lemon Radler truly was Springtime perfection in a glass - combining two of life’s greatest flavors, Helles lager and lemon juice. This was the perfect beer to satisfy all the drinkability superlatives: crispy, quaffable, crushable, thirst-quenching, and refreshing. A light malt body, balanced finish, and lightly tart lemon acidity created the most harmonious beer.
Our Ferry Hop collaboration with Kulshan Brewing is one we look forward to every year. This year we decided to do something different! Instead of the usual brew and drink collaborations from the past, we incorporated activities from our locations: Bellingham and the San Juan Islands. We explored the beauty of the Pacific Northwest together, mountain biking with Dig Deep Tours in Bellingham and kayaking with San Juan Kayaking Expeditions in the stunning San Juan Islands, along with drinking delicious award-winning beer.
Brewing Excellence
Award-Winning Brews:
2024 was another year of recognition for our brewing team. We are thrilled to announce that both our Black Boar Porter and Late Boat Czech Dark Lager were awarded Silver at the Washington Beer Awards.

A Year in Numbers:
1,788 BBLS brewed, that’s 443,424 pints!
Of those 1,788 barrels, we brewed 31 distinct beers throughout the year, showcasing our creativity and desire to innovate continuously and bring you fresh styles year-round. Six of those styles were new this year:
Hunker Down Munich Dunkel
Dunkels Bock Winter Lager
7 Year West Coast Pilsner
Open Bay Cold IPA
Squeeze the Day Lemon Radler (collab with Larabee Lager)
XX English Mild on Nitro
Our Best Selling Beers of 2024:
Crisp, Zesty, Highly Drinkable
Why a Czech-style Pilsner you ask?
Pilsner, as a beer style, was born in the Czech town of Plzen in the mid-1800s in response to widespread protest over poor beer quality. Produced with zesty Czech grown Saaz hops and full-flavored Bohemian malted barleys, the San Juan Czech Pilsner is a true-to-style experience.

As unique and distinctive as the 124 remote San Juan Islands reachable only by private boat, the Outer Island IPA delivers a hop-heavy aroma, bursting with melon and apricot, followed by a palate-cleansing finish that leaves you longing for more.

Yachter’s Daughter Helles Lager
Light, Smooth, Easy Drinking
Each year thousands of yachters, both young and old, find their way to the beautiful San Juan Island Archipelago. Yachter’s Daughter Helles Lager is perhaps the most refreshing and easiest drinking beer in our lineup. The German word “Helles” translates to “light” or “pale,” and Helles Lager is one of the most popular styles in the beer-loving region of Bavaria. Whether sailing the Salish Sea or keeping your two feet firmly planted on land, Yachter’s Daughter Helles Lager is your every occasion beer.
2025 Release Calendar
We are thrilled to share with you our packaging plan for 2025. As you’ll see, we’ll continue to produce a great variety of styles, with a few to be determined as the year progresses. Whether you join us at the Brewpub or purchase our beers from your favorite establishment, we hope you enjoy them as much as we will.
What brew are you most looking forward to? Let’s raise a glass (of our very own San Juan Pilsner, perhaps?) to 2025.
